Rabbi Yitzchak Fanger
The path that lead Rabbi Yitzchak Fanger to Hashem has many twists and turns through the pursuit of Reiki in the Far East, becoming a Buddhist priest and a series of events that are nothing short of miraculous.
After feeling that a higher power was watching over him, Yitzchak had a burst of spiritual enlightenment and decided to return to Israel. While back in Israel Rabbi Fanger learned and eventually became fully observant while running a successful Reiki Center in Israel. After an inquiry from a customer left him questioning if his teachings were kosher he consulted with Rabbi Yitzchak Zilberstein on the matter. The rabbi's answer was that what he is doing is based on Avodah Zara ('idol worship') and forbidden to teach, uncertain what to do, he was told to consult next with Rav Chaim Kanievsky for advice. The Rabbi told him, "Before you decide what you are going to do, go learn Torah in a Yeshiva for three months."
He attended Yeshivat Ohr Sameach, and remained learning there for 10 years, during that time got married. Faced with a cross-road of what to do to earn a parnassah, Rabbi Zilberstein encouraged him to use his gifts from Hashem to spread Torah. Rabbi Fanger took this advice and he has spent years now teaching Torah all over the world.
